Mindful movement on retreat

Moving our body is an important way of moving emotions through and out, managing stress, and just being comfortable in our own skin.

While on the Inhabit Retreat you will have the opportunity to engage in what I am calling mindful movement. The reason for including movement in the retreat structure is that keeping our body moving is an important way of moving emotions through and out, managing stress, and just being comfortable in our own skin. We are made to move!

If you have a mindful movement practice such as yoga, tai chi or qi gong that you feel comfortable with, just incorporate whatever you normally do into the retreat.

If not, feel free to think as broadly as you like - in addition to yoga, tai chi and and qi gong, you could include dancing, walking, swimming, cycling or any other type of movement that you enjoy.

My only request is that while you are moving that you are aware of your breath and that your breath is a part of your movement.

If you need some inspiration:

Yoga

Qi Gong

If you have any recommendations, share in the comments below!

Go well,

Sara

I made a playlist for my retreat, which I also used for a breath session during my retreat. I put this on during the retreat and intuitively danced as a ritual for letting go of the old and bringing in the new. At the end I spent some time in stillness listening to the playlist and allowed the experience to land and be embodied. Here is the playlist I put together: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6K4ULF8Nb8XWAaW8SOis0o?si=4b19a6d8886641ed

ooh love the idea of a retreat playlist! And dancing too - great way to move energy through the body and out. Thanks for sharing the playlist - am going to have a listen :)
